On June 18, 2019 I gave a presentation to 20+ members of the Vancouver WordPress Meetup community. I think my topic was well-received by the majority, and the feedback I have received has been very encouraging! :)
Alex Levan reminded me of the WPMU suite of products during the presentation. Afterward we chatted about his success with Smush for image compression, Hummingbird for site performance, and Defender for security. Thanks Alex!
The last item to mention was UploadCare, a service I mentioned a few times throughout the evening. I have not personally used the service, but they tout cool features like GIF-to-video conversion, automatic sorting, and an in-browser image cropping tool. I looked into other similar services, and Cloudinary also looks pretty good. I have more research to do. :)
Thank you to the following folks:
- Jill Binder from DiverseIn.tech for the speaker training. Without the material we covered last the last 2 weeks, I would not have had the necessary tactics and techniques I needed to present. If you have the opportunity to attend one of her classes, don’t think twice.
- Jonathan Leathers for hosting the event, providing great suggested topics, and ensuring everything ran smoothly.
- CodeCore for providing a venue.
